Blacks in the Revolution
Burial marker for the 5 men killed by British Soldiers on March 5th, 1770 (“The Boston Massacre”). According to a History Channel special about Blacks in the Revolution , Attucks was the 1st person killed by British soldiers in the Revolution. All 5 of the Boston Massacre victims (1 Black man and 4 white men) were buried together.
Also interred at the site is 12-year-old Christopher Seider (or Snider), who was killed by a Boston Loyalist on February 22nd, 1770. Seiders is considered the 1st American killed in the American Revolution.
