About the Blog

In today's polarized environment, it is important to have as many facts from as many sources as possible. The more sources that provide similar information, the more likely the information is factual.

I read articles from online sources as diverse as CNN, Reuters, Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal, The Hill, The New York Times, NPR (National Public Radio), The Atlantic, The Bulwark, History.com, and Justia Law Service.

Most of these sources are considered politically Centrist or Left Leaning.

Using these sources, I created a blog to share my thoughts on current events; provide historical context; upload relevant reference material; and, include articles from reputable news sources. Citations are provided for each source. The provided articles were scrubbed to remove embedded links and photos. However, no changes have been made.

This site is constantly updated as I identify additional information for existing sections and current events require new sections.

I can be reached via email at either democracydieswithlies@gmailcom, or comments@democracydieswithlies.com

Media Bias Charts.  To evidence the political bias of news sources used in this website, I have uploaded two Media Bias Charts. Each chart classifies news site bias as Middle, Skews Left, Skews Right, Strong Left and Strong Right. The Ad Fontes Media Bias Charts includes additional bias categories as well as Value and Reliability ratings.

Ad Fontes (founded. 2018)  has studied 3600 news sources, 700 podcasts and 474 TV/video programs, evaluating them on a two-point methodology. In some circles, it's simply referred to as "The Chart" -- a mark of its reach and growing influence.

The bias rating, on the horizontal axis, ranges from most extreme left to middle to most extreme right.

The reliability rating, demonstrated on the chart’s vertical axis, rates sources on a scale from original fact reporting to analysis, opinion, propaganda and inaccurate/fabricated information.
